Dear Parents

Our three house teams were in fierce but friendly competition this week!

As Amanda says below, its difficult to believe that we are at the end of the first Quarter already. In our assembly yesterday I made a point of thanking EVERYONE for their part in making our transition to becoming UWC East Africa as smooth as it has been. Of course, not everything has gone to plan but I am pleased that we all have embraced the spirit of tolerance and understanding as we strive to improve.

This week, on Arusha Campus, was all about House competition and we hosted two very successful House Sports days!

We now have a well-earned two week break, however we need to think ag=head three weeks to our Grand UWC Opening extravaganza on Friday 25th October. Events to celebrate 50 years of ISM and to welcome in the new UWC are planned on both campuses for that day. The Friday will be a normal school day for most, however, anyone is welcome to attend the events on either campus. The School will endeavour to provide transport to Moshi Campus and back for anyone who wants it. You may have received a request to indicate your attendance at eithe rof these events from Mwegelo, our Advancement Officer.

The evnt will culminate in a barbeque in Arusha. We will need to gather an estimate of numbers of attendees for this meal. To that end, if you wih to attend,  please could you fill in the form at this link – it will take you 30 seconds!

All that remains is for me to wish my hard-working colleagues, wonderful students and fabulous parents a very pleasant October break.

Please be safe,

Phil

PYP News!

We have had a great start to the year and I can’t believe Quarter One is over. This week has been a hive of activity. The EC Picnic was fun with everyone celebrating their child’s achievements! The P3 class shared their knowledge on heros and dressed up in style. The P6 had a pizza innovation cooking session. The pizza with dinner and dessert in one was delicious. The upper primary participated in their inter house sports day on Friday with a round robin of events and running races.

I think everyone deserves a well earned rest! Have a safe and happy two week holiday. See you on Monday 21st October.

P4 students shone on Monday morning for their “Walk of Heroes”. They had an end of unit extravaganza where they dressed up as the hero that they studied. They shared their research posters as well as art pieces from heroic artists that they studied. Well done, P4!

M1 and P2 Reading Buddies

This week, M1 students made their way to the Primary School to read with some very excited P2 students! Thank you to Mr Ratsakatika and Miss Marja and Mis Alley!
