Dear Parents

Sometime (we don’t know exactly which day!) at the end of this coming week we will be celebrating 55 years of International School of Moshi or 5 years of UWC East Africa, whichever way you want to look at it. We will have an informal but meaningful assembly on Friday this week at 1pm. Please bring along any alumni or friends of ISM and we will reminsice together and maybe even think about what we can do as a UWC in a world that has had its fair share of depressing news recently.

Our newsletter is very short this week – I suppose we have only been back three days! However the events are coming thick and fast this quarter and as a member of our local Rotary Club, I make no excuses for plugging our upcoming traithlon for which we need people to sign up! Our club supports various projects in our school neighbourhood with an emphasis on women’s empowerment, youth opportunity as well as local entrepreneurship. Even if you do not find the prospect of a traithlon in this October heat appealing, then maybe consider sponsoring one of our eager student teams. Please feel free to contact adm.rotarytriathlon@gmail.com if you would like to help this way. Thank you.

Have a pleasant weekend.

Primary Years Programme News

PYP P1/2 and P5 buddies created monsters as a cooperative listening activity.

Dear Parents,

A valid observation has been made that, during Share Time we all like to film our children on our phones. However, this means that the children often don’t see faces but see the backs of phones. We would like to propose that we make an effort to film students with our faces showing and not looking at the performance through a screen. Thanks.

Please see the PYP dates for the diary this quarter

Thursday 12th December – Top of the Pops
Friday 13th December – Reports Home / Last day of Q2.
