Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this finds you all well. As we move into the last weeks of the semester, students and staff alike are amazed that we are nearly half way through the 2024/25 school year. So much has taken place already this year and I hope you have been enjoying the news from the school that you receive in the weekly campus newsletters. With two weeks to go, we still have the Arusha campus production of Mary Poppins and more OP trips to look forward to.
At the Governing Board meeting held last week, the school fees for the 2025/26 were set and you can find them on the school website or by clicking here.
The school collects the vast majority of its income from school fees and I must start by thanking the parents who routinely pay their school fees on or before the due date. That said, the percentage of fees that are overdue is rising year on year. As a result, the Heads of Campus and Director, along with accounts staff, spend many hours every week reminding parents and chasing overdue accounts which is time that we could be spending on other things.
As a reminder, our quarterly payment schedule is as follows:
- Quarter 1: Due July 1st
- Quarter 2: Due October 1st
- Quarter 3: Due December 1st
- Quarter 4: Due March 1st
and all fees are payable in advance of the upcoming quarter.
We want to address this situation and ensure fair treatment of all families. Starting in quarter 3 and in line with the existing school policy, a 5% surcharge will be applied to all payments that are more than two weeks overdue.
We recognize that unexpected circumstances can occasionally affect a family’s ability to meet payment deadlines and we remain committed to working with families facing genuine difficulties. Should this affect you, we encourage you to contact us promptly to discuss arrangements.
On behalf of UWC East Africa, I appreciate your cooperation in maintaining timely payments. This will allow us to focus our resources on what matters most – providing excellent education for our students.
Kind regards,
Anna Marsden
Director
