An opportunity we cannot let pass by: UWC EA Scholarship Endowment!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the UWC East Africa Endowment Fund, a transformative step forward in securing scholarships for brilliant students. This fund marks a significant milestone in our journey towards fostering an inclusive and inspiring learning environment that develops balanced global citizens who are empowered to act responsibly in a complex world.

The endowment is designed to expand scholarship opportunities to ensure that financial barriers do not hinder the brightest minds from the region from accessing the quality education they deserve.

Unlike our other fundraising efforts, contributions to the UWC East Africa Endowment Fund are pooled and invested. The income generated from these investments is then annually channelled back to the school, funding scholarships that recur annually. This model ensures the original donation remains intact and continues to benefit the school in perpetuity.

Our commitment to educational access runs deep, since pioneering the first two ISM scholarships in 2002, we have dedicated ourselves to empowering young people across the region through education, particularly those from underserved communities.

As we launch the UWC East Africa Endowment Fund, we invite you to join us in this ambitious endeavour to raise US$ 1,000,000 by December 2025. This will be matched by long-term UWC supporters and philanthropists through the UWC Endowment Fund to create a US$ 3 million endowment for UWC East Africa. The interest on the investment is equivalent to 4 full scholarships to UWC East Africa annually in perpetuitiy.  At 4% growth, this fund will give interest of $120,000 per annum. This is an opportunity we cannot let pass us by!

The success of the UWC East Africa Endowment Fund hinges on the generous support of our community: alumni (staff and students), parents (current and former) and staff who share our belief in the transformative power of education.  Already, some teachers and parents have kindly pledged to fundraise for us or asked that a proportion of their salary or school fee payments be diverted to the fund. We know we can achieve this goal with everyone on board.

Every contribution will get us closer to that target which will guarantee greater financial security for ever more! You may also chose to commit to fundraise with us.
